How does TITAN™ work?

Titan™ utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the water content of the dermis below the skin surface, while simultaneously protecting it via an advanced cooling mechanism. This process increases the skin collagen and tightens the skin. The end result is decreased laxity of skin. Our patients have designated it as “a mini face lift.”

What is the difference between Titan ™and Thermage?

Thermage uses radiofrequency to heat the skin fat, which is very painful. Titan™, however, is a painless process. Thermage affects the skin fat resulting in atrophy of the skin fat – an undesirable consequence to the natural contours of the face. Titan™, however, does not affect the fat. Thermage utilized radiofrequency energy, which is dependent on the impedance of the various layers of skin. These variations translate into significant differences form layer to the text. The Titan™ technology uses water as the target chromophore and thus creates an even distribution of the energy in the treated areas.

What are the possible side effects?

Some patients have reported a tingling feeling during the procedure. Some patients might notice congestion and swelling following the procedure, which gradually disappears in few hours.

How long it takes to see the results?

Patients usually feel some tightening immediately following the procedure. For most, however, 3 treatments spaced four weeks apart are needed to for the best outcomes. The formation of new collagen is gradual and it takes a few months to see the final results.
